VGSoM (Vinod Gupta School of Management) is a part of IIT Kharagpur and is the first school of management of its kind set up within the IIT system. It is a public business school ranked 14th by NIRF 2023 and 13th by IIRF 2023 in India. VGSOM offers a fully residential flagship MBA program. The B-school also offers an Executive MBA course for working executives over weekends in Kolkata. Moreover, the VGSoM (IIT KGP) also offers PGDBA Program jointly with IIM Calcutta and ISI. The college also offers a PhD program of 3 years duration.
VGSOM MBA / EMBA / PGDBA admissions are done through CAT followed by a Personal Interview. International candidates seeking admission in the MBA program must possess a valid score in the GMAT exam. For PhD, The eligible candidates with Post-Graduation in required discipline with a good academic record are shortlisted through a Written / Computer Test followed by a Personal Interview. MBA is a 2-year fully residential flagship postgraduate program of VGSOM. Candidates are selected for the MBA program based on CAT entrance exam scores. The VGSoM fees of the MBA program is INR 11.75 Lakhs.

Executive MBA (EMBA) is specially designed for Working Professionals. The Course Duration is 3 Years and it is spread across 12 Semesters. Students of the EMBA program earn the Degree of MBA from IIT Kharagpur. The total fee of the program is INR 6,00,000.

- Candidates with a 1st Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology with a minimum of 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PwD) or

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) is jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI. PGDBA is a 2-year fully residential program. The total fee of the program is INR 25,00,000.
VGSOM (IIT Kharagpur) PGDBA Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate must hold a Graduate / Post-Graduate degree with any of the following: 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2 with a Minimum of 60% marks in B. Tech./B.E./M.Sc./M.Com or equivalent).
For SC/ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% marks. Students in their Final Year of Graduation are also eligible to apply.

IIT - Kharagpur : Placement
VGSOM IIT Kharagpur placements 2023 has been concluded. VGSOM IIT Kgp highest package stood at INR 43.37 LPA whereas VGSOM IIT Kharagpur average package stood at INR 22.13 LPA. Maximum number of students were placed in the Strategy & Consulting domain (30%) followed by Operations Domain (19%). During the placement drive of 2023, recruiters came from various sectors. Students received job roles like Analyst, Consultant, Program Manager, Management Trainee etc.
The final report of the 2024 summer internship placement drive has also been released. According to the report, 125 students registered to participate in the placement drive & all of them received internship opportunities. The highest & average stipend stood at INR 3.40 Lakhs & INR 1.77 Lakhs respectively. There was a participation of 40 recruiters during the summer internship placement drive.
